VANDI HODGES
Jeweler · Traveler · Collector · Bon Vivant
Vandi Hodges has spent her life following her interest, often to far-flung places and always toward something beautiful. Along the way, she’s collected as much inspiration as she has experiences.
Among that collection is the bold and highly stylized fashion of Denmark, where she began her world travels at 17 years old. Fascinated by colors, textiles, and the history of culture, Vandi first began importing fine silks, tapestries, jewels, and artifacts from some of the most exciting and exotic markets around the world. She apprenticed in the London-based workshop of Kaleido by Daniel Krumhorn for 5 years, learning not only the art of designing jewelry but also relating her art to the daring and edgy city in which she lived.
Vandi opened her first jewelry store in the Balearic Islands of Spain, where she was won over by the rich beauty of the Byzantine influence in modern-day Spanish design. By the time she arrived in Round Top, Texas (where most world travel seems to lead), she had already sharpened her crystal-clear vision and refined her singular yet eclectic taste.
Vandi has been selling in Round Top for 5 years and is currently located in historic Henkel Square. Here, Vandi’s jewelry mingles with vintage silk kimonos, antique textiles, and curious treasures gathered from across the globe. There is no particular allegiance to an era, a place, or a passing trend, only a fondness for beautiful things and the pleasure of discovering and sharing them. A little old-world glamour, a little nomadic charm, and plenty of personality.
Each piece of jewelry is handcrafted, each stone hand-cut. Through a process called vermeil, Vandi combines a fine silver base with a 2.5-micron blanket of 24-karat gold, providing her international clientele with the exquisite experience of wearing a decadent piece of art made only of fine metals. Vandi offers her designs in both satin-finished fine silver and satin-finished 24-karat gold vermeil.
